Welcome at the umtsmon website.

UMTSmon is a tool to control and monitor a wireless mobile network card (GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, UMTS, HSDPA) in a laptop running the Linux operating system. It handles PIN codes, operator choice (roaming), signal strength and network statistics, sending/receiving SMS .

It probably also works well with several 3G phones that provide a serial interface in Linux: please let me know how it works: kvangend at users.sf.net .

If you know very little about UMTS and/or the various mobile technologies, it might be wise to start by clicking the "Extra docs" to the left and read the paper on UMTS and Linux first.

This site is far from finished, most of the links in the bar above will point to pages on the main sourceforge site.
